Leicester Girls Softball- Fall 2020
Leicester Girls Softball is pleased to announce the opening of registration for the 2020 Fall Softball Season. Fall Softball season this year will look a little different due to Covid-19 and the threat of EEE.
Fall 2020 Softball Season:
Wednesday, September 16 - Saturday, October 24th. (6 weeks)
Ages 4-16, Leicester/League players only.
Every Wednesday evening & Saturday afternoon.
Focus will be on skills, drills and having fun.
Coach Jesse, Coach Garrett, Coach Shane.
Helpers/Assistants Dawn, Amy, Sue A, Sue S, Cam: Coaches will run practices on the same days, alternating if one can’t make it, or helping each other out with running clinics together, depending on numbers. There is room on the field and with the batting cage to split up into cohorts or ‘teams’ and also do skill building together. It is the best time to have older players mentor or build up the younger players, strengthening both the moral and leadership skills of our players.
MA State Covid guidelines will be followed, including social distancing outside as much as possible. Equipment cannot be shared. Each player must have their own gear to play or sanitize and use the same equipment for the season, which will be sanitized again. Coaches and players in close proximity will need to wear masks if they cannot socially distance in the dugout or some drills. Parents will be asked to sit in the bleachers or in chairs outside the fence, and to be aware of giving non-family members space. The league will provide hand sanitizer, gloves, have extra masks on hand if needed (but please bring your own), and bug spray for the anticipation of mosquitoes.
During this fall season we look forward to having the girls back out there together practicing skills, staying connected to softball and learning something new. While we won’t be having official games with other towns, we will be taking this time to work on running drills, clinics, scrimmages within LGS, Parents VS Kids game and a ton of fun! This is a great time to get involved, see what the league is all about and stay connected in anticipation of Spring 2021.
Overall, this Fall season will be geared toward fun & learning! We want the girls to have a chance to get back out and play ball.
When registering please choose Returning Spring 2020 Player if you were registered and unable to play with us this Spring.
Not a returning Spring 2020 player?? Come on and join us this fall for a New Player cost of $15. When registering as a new player for LGS choose New player option.
